Diamond Platinumz and the entire Wasafi Records have been big followers of the current president, John Magufuli.Harmonize, remixed his Kwangaru hit to praise Magufuli. Diamond Platinumz did the same to his Baba lao hit.

Tanzania’s polls divided singers into two factions, those against Magufuli and those against Lissu. Magufuli won whom diamond Platnumz and Wasafi Records stood behind.
Diamond Platnumz manager,Babu Tale who made his Political debut three months ago was elected unopposed under Magufuli’s CCM to represent Morogoro. It is unclear wheather he will continue managing Diamond.

Diamond supports Magufuli for him to have a good working environment without Interferences from the government. In the past, Diamonds songs were banned by Magufuli’s goverment, example, ‘ Nyegezi’.
It was inturn a hard time for professor Jay who failed to recapture his Mikumi parliamentary seat under CHADEMA. Lissu has accused the government for using state machinery to get back to power. Lissu has shown signs of resisting election results though it’s not earlier wheather he will move to court.
