Media houses warned against hosting Bobi Wine and Nup Candidates with Red Barrett

Government rnment has warned media houses against hosting politicians who posses red berets and other items in the gazette, and promote hate speech or even tell lies.

Speaking after a meeting between security chiefs and media owners held at the CMI headquarters in Mbuya, the government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo said any media house that breaches the set rules, commits an offense.

Opondo says it is the duty of any media entity to confirm and provide proof to any utterance made by politicians.

Politicians who wear red berets have most often been arrested for wearing them on TV with the latest being NUP’s secretary General, Lewis Rubongoya.
