Pyramids SC Unveils Egyptian Captain Ahmed Fathi on a long-term deal at 36

Egyptian defender Ahmed Fathi Abdelmonem Ahmed Ibrahim has been unveiled by Egyptian side Pyramids SC after he completed a switch from Al Ahly.The 36-year-old  joined Pyramids SC on a free transfer.

Ahmed Fathi has agreed a three-year contract and will be earning an estimated amount of one million dollar per year.

Egyptian media say his departure was provoked by lack of game time as the Ahly legend and Egyptian national team captain has made only 17 appearances last season. Sources Ahly officials offered him a new contract but he turn down the offer to stay with the reds.

“Pyramids announces the signing of Egypt national team captain Ahmed Fathi on a free transfer” Pyramids issued the statement in Twitter when the deal was done in August.

 

His departure makes him the third Al Ahly SC legend to leave in the close season transfer window. Sherif Ekramy and Hossam Ashour have also announced their departure after the current campaign.

The versatile midfielder who can also occasionally played in the right back role began his career in 2000 with Ismaily SC. He enjoyed the best phase of football at Al Ahly where he made 338 appearances, scored 24 goals and made 61 assists to help the Club win ten league titles plus three CAF Champions League titles.

Pyramids SC becomes his third Egyptian Club and most likely the last for the Ex-Hull City and Sheffield United man.He has played for Egyptian Clubs like Ismaily SC between 2000-2007 and Al Ahly SC between 2007-2014 and second time between 2015-2020

Ahmed fathi was born today on 10th November 1984 in Benha,Egypt .Therefore he has been unveiled on his 36th Birthday.

Ahmed Fathi has made 134 appearances for the Egyptian national team and scored three goals. His capture brings huge experience to a very ambitious Pyramids team.
