President Museveni assigns new KCCA directors

New KCCA directors assigned by president Museveni

President Museveni has yet appointed six new KCCA directors and their deputies to man different directories at Kampala Capital City Authority.

Information coming in to our media revealed that the public service commission chaired by Ms Musoke Kabogoza has already completed the recruitment process and the new directors and their deputies whose details are yet to be officially disclosed are expected to occupy the directorates of Engineering and Technical Services among others.

However this new development comes close to two weeks after parliament’s committee on commissions Statutory Authority and Enterprises quizzed officials from the KCCA over failure to utilize the funds that had been urgently needed in city health facilities and schools.

This was due to a report tabled by the Auditor General of 2022 which revealed that over Shs 13.5b meant to facilitate the recruitment of teachers and health workers by KCCA was returned to the Consolidated Fund during the 2021/22 financial year.

However the KCCA team in retaliation said the recruitment process was supposed to be headed by the Education and Health Service Commissions.

In addition the delays were also attributed to the Covid 19 pandemic that paralyzed several activities due to lockdowns and restricted movements.

The new KCCA directors will soon take on their new responsibilities after going through the due process.
Meanwhile recruitment of other staff at lower levels is also ongoing.
