Marks 5years since Ugandan musician Harriet Kisakye dies
Today Marks 5years Musician Harriet Kisakye died at International Hospital Kampala (IHK) in Kisugu, Namuwongo.
Kisakye, who battled unclear illness, was transferred from Mulago hospital to IHK after her condition deteriorated.
She was hospitalised at Mulago Referral Hospital in Kampala two weeks with a septic wound on her forearm that reportedly got worse despite continuous interventions.
Former FDC president Kizza Besigye came for the singer’s rescue when he went to Mulago hospital and requested for her to be transferred to IHK in Kisugu – Namuwongo after being briefed about her worsening condition.
Besigye had been briefed by medics at Mulago that Kisakye had liver, kidney and lung complications and the organs were not functioning well.
The singer was famous for songs like Gyenvudde tebibadde birungi, Kandahar and Kinigeria.
