Edward Muhumuza finally laid to rest

All media fraternity yesterday joined hundreds of mourners in Kanyinya village Kyegwegwa district to lay off celebrated media journalist Muhumuza Edward who passed on following the accident along the Entebbe Expressway last week on Saturday morning.

Paster Lincoln Benon Kiggundu presided over the last funeral rites among the somber mourners before the late was later on laid to rest in the afternoon.

Paster Kigundu described the late as a devout believer who served his church meticulously and called on the congregants to be humble regardless of their status in society.

“ Be humble and approachable just like the late( Edward) who was a friend to many since he loved to serve the church and left many unfulfilled plans…”

However mourners were inconsolable as many of them were breaking down during the mass service.
Over 50 journalists from different media platforms attended the send off ceremony of Muhumuza Edward.

Colleagues from the National Media Group- Uganda General manager Daniel Kalinaki up lauded the late ( Muhumuza) for being a profession he exhibited during his time across the newsroom.

“ Last year , he approached me and said he wanted to do a story about oil. We sought authorization from the government but he wasn’t successful. He didn’t give up and I assured him we would try again and after his operation in December he reminded me about the pending assignment,”Muhumuza’s supervisor told the mass.

Later on they were cleared but unfortunately Edward Muhumuza died before he had an opportunity to publish the content he had gathered from the Albertine region.

The mother of the deceased Ms Kyomugisha Masitula described the late as a person who was passionate for journalism and committed to his faith.

In addition an Aunt also went ahead and described him as cooperative person who loved education
“ I wish today was his wedding day but we are all here mourning him. I would like to thank the entire NTV for looking after him all the years he worked for the company,”She said.

Among other members present during the mourning was UPDF spokesman Col Deo Akiiki .
