Didier Drogba has lost a race to be President of Ivorian football

Didier Drogba has lost in the race to be President of the Ivorian FA after receiving 0 votes. 11 members of the Association of former footballers voted for Sory Diabate, 3 abstained.

 

It is reported that they didn’t vote for him because he isn’t active enough at grassroot level.

Didier Drogba is a UN World Tourism Ambassador.

Drogba co owns US football club, Phoenix Rising FC and has shares with Williamsville AC, where he is a Board Member. He bought a 5% stake in a gold mine in Cote d’Ivoire in 2013.

Didier Drogba built a school for 350 kids in a village, Onahio Pokou-Kouamekro in Cote d’Ivoire in 2018.

He bought uniforms for 5,000 children so they could go to school in the country in 2014.

He built a $1 million hospital for his people.

He helped to end their civil war.
