Bobi Wine Beats Military Deployment, attends Sheikh Anas’s Burial in Ntungamo

Heavy security was mounted at Magaga barracks with several military roadblocks placed in the road enroute Ruhama, Ntungamo.

It has emerged that the security deployment was mounted to prevent NUP presidential flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine from getting to the region.

Kyagulanyi was slated to attend the burial of celebrated scholar Dr. Anas A Kaliisa who suddenly passed away on Wednesday on arrival at his home from work.

In a show of power and might, security checked suspicious vehicles. What were they looking for – Kyagulanyi!

However, it dawned on security that despite deploying in the wee hours of the night, Kyagulanyi has beaten them at their own game.

” We were surprised when one of our people informed us that Kyagulanyi was already at the burial place,” one of the police officers not allowed to officially speak to police informed us.

Indeed Kyagulanyi was in the company of his wife.

Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata before handing over the microphone to Kyagulanyi cautioned govt to stop harassing opposition politicians.

” Bobi Wine is a peaceful man, when he spoke in Kibuli, was there any problem? It is your security that started to cause chaos,” Muzaata said.

While paying his respects to the late Dr. Kaliisa, a ceremony attended by the movers and shakers of Uganda, Kyagulanyi asked Museveni to treat him as a Ugandan and presidential candidate.

I know some of you are close to Mr. Museveni. Go tell him that I am a Ugandan who needs to talk to Ugandans like he does. Why does he stop me? All we need is to stop the dictatorship,” he said.

He said, before adding that the president belongs to all Ugandans.

Kyagulanyi canceled his manifesto launch for Friday for tomorrow Saturday with respect to the Salam Charity founder Dr. Kaliisa.

With the heavy deployment in Mbarara, it remains to be seen whether he will be allowed to launch his manifesto at the heart of the NRM stronghold.
