Besigye, Bobi Wine Set to Make a ‘Huge Announcement’ at a Joint Press Conference

People Power Loyalists Protest Besigye- Bobi Wine Alliance
Besigye and Bobi Wine share a light moment
Col. Kizza Besigye and Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi have secretly approached one of the popular TV stations (names withheld) in Kampala to “relay live” their joint news conference, FremerMedia can authoritatively report.

The two political dynamites will address the country from Besigye’s expansive residence in Kasanganti, Wakiso District on June 16 (Tuesday), if all goes as planned.

Whereas details of the presser remain concealed, a source in Kizza Besgye’s faction- the People’s Government who wished to remain unnamed so as to speak freely told us that the two opposition politicians are “set to make a huge announcement.”

“Doctor and Bobi Wine have not told us what they want to say. But they simply told us to organize a press conference. But you should expect a big pronouncement,” said a source.

The anticipation is that the two will unveil their merger as the country prepares for 2021 general elections, and considering that the FDC founder has categorically made it clear that he doesn’t want to stand in the coming election, some of Besigye’s hardliners think he will “give way and rally behind Bobi Wine.”

The two leaders have met in the recent past raising speculation that they were discussing how to handle 2021.

But Robert Kyagulanyi, the People Power leader said he had paid a cordial visit to his comrade and mentor Kizza Besigye.

Bobi Wine’s equally palatial home is a stone throw away from Besigye’s ‘Kasangati state house’ as commonly called.

For a long time now, Col. Besigye has been under pressure to pave way for a new opposition face- Bobi Wine considering that he has failed to defeat his political adversary- Yoweri Museveni for two decades on the ballot.

When contacted Col. Besigye couldn’t respond to our repeated calls.

People Power spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi told this website that it is true the two leaders are planning something. “We are going to let you know about the details in a short while. I don’t want to let the cut out of a bag for now,” said Ssenyonyi.
