Archbishop Kaziimba advocates for government support in fight against fistula

The Most Reverend Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, has called upon the government to provide support for the fight against fistula.

This follows a recent statement where he highlighted the importance of raising awareness about this debilitating condition and providing resources to help those affected.

Dr. Kaziimba emphasized the need for increased funding for fistula treatment and prevention programs, as well as the importance of educating women and girls about the condition.

Furthermore he noted that many women in Uganda are unaware of fistula, which can lead to social isolation and other negative consequences.

The Archbishop also stressed the need for improved access to medical care for women suffering from fistula, particularly in rural areas. He called on the government to work with healthcare providers and NGOs to ensure that women have access to the treatment they need.

Dr. Kaziimba’s call to action comes at a critical time, as the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the challenges faced by those affected by fistula. By providing support for fistula prevention and treatment, the government can help ensure that women and girls are able to live healthy, productive lives.
