Jose Chameleone Explains The Type Of Relationship He Has With President Museveni

Legendary Ugandan music star, Dr Jose Chameleone has come out to throw light on the type of relationship he has with the Ugandan President, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Chameleone while appearing on Spark TV said that Museveni is his friend. Besides, the first lady too is his friend and so are the first children.

“The President is my friend and the first lady is my friend as well. Their children are also my friends,” he said.

The Vumilia singer is without a doubt one that belongs to the yellow team. Even when he crossed to Bobi Wine’s People Power during his unsuccessful political campaign, he eventually went back to NRM.

He’s severally been rewarded by Museveni for his efforts in entrenching him into power.

Meanwhile, Jose Chameleone who is promoting his upcoming Gwanga Mujje concert also said he was surprised by Buganda’s Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga.

He yesterday visited Mayiga and said that he’s surprised by how much the Premier follows Ugandan music. This is despite being a busy man.

“I was surprised to find that the Katikkiro follows and supports our music because he’s a busy man,” said Chameleone.

The Leone Island boss added that nowadays he’s competing with himself alone. According to his story, he started singing at age 19 and was a star by 21. Musicians however nowadays are just competing with each other materialistically.

The singer despite being arguably Uganda’s best singer ever, also stated the year he once felt pressure from other musicians The singer said that in 2006, he felt the pressure predominantly from Mesach Ssemakula after his Ssigwe Onsimira song.

Firebase boss Bobi Wine also released his Bada song which became hits and put him on pressure.
