Bobi Wine promises sheikh muzaata a position in the New Uganda Government

Presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine who today attended the funeral of fallen Nxt Media staff and Islamic Scholar Dr. Anas Kariisa spoke against the prevailing Islamophobia exhibited by Uganda’s judicial system.

The outspoken politician pledged to put a total end on the ‘guilty until proven innocent’ notion harboured by security forces which oppress muslims and link them to terror activities as evidenced in the 13 year reign of Gen. Kale Kayihura as IGP. “I will stop immediately the guilty until proven innocent syndrom against our Muslims. There will be no more killings of Muslims, in such situations reports will be out immediately,” Bobi said. “I will ensure fair trial of all our citizens without any religious or cultural bias. I will work with young muslims to raise and protect muslims properties and asparations,” he pledged.

He also adds that the rights of Muslims will be respected just like those of Ugandans of other faiths. “I will stop the culture of removing veils to women while in public offices or taking official photos. This is a negative way that undermines their rights as muslims,” he says. “I promise to work hand in hand with top Muslims leaders in our new government,” he adds.

The event was also attended by two other presidential contenders, Mugisha Muntu of the ANT party and Gen. Henry Tumukunde of the Renewed Uganda pressure group.

Kyagulanyi earlier announced the postponement of the manifesto launch to Saturday November 7, in respect of the fallen Islamic scholar Kariisa who is to be laid to rest on Friday.
