UAE records 624 new cases of Covid-19 bringing total to 17,417

The Ministry of Health said 25 per cent of all patients have recovered from the virus

The Ministry of Health and prevention has announced the number of total coronavirus cases has increased by 624 to 17,417.

 

According to a spokesman 25 per cent of all Covid-19 patients have recovered from the virus, a total of 4,295 patients. 458 new recoveries were recorded.

 

At the regular press conference, officials announced deaths from the outbreak had reached 185, an increase of 11.

 

Kuwait announced a “total” lockdown of 20 days to combat the coronavirus. Public sector work will continue remotely but all private sector activities barring essential services will be suspended during the restrictions starting at 4pm on Sunday.

 

Total cases worldwide neared four million on Saturday, with the death toll reaching 274,934. More than 1.3 million have now recovered from the virus.

 

The UAE announced 553 new cases from 41,000 tests on Friday and reported 265 recoveries and nine more deaths.
