The former Uganda Cranes midfielder has joined the Uganda Premier league Club Police FC which is under the stewardship of Uganda cranes assistant coach,Abdallah Mubiru.
Mawejje has been afree agent since parting ways with Kuwaiti Club, AL Arabi Sports Club last year.The 33year, has signed a two-year contract that will keep him at the Club until 2022.
He has rejoined Police FC, a Club he played for between 2006-2007,then known kown as Police Jinja.
Tonny Mawejje has become their first signing as they prepare for the forthcoming season of 2020/21 and he has been unveiled today, by police FC Chairman Afande Asan Kasingye.
He joins the Cops with a vast experiece, and has previously played for Masaka Local council,Police FC,URA FC and KCCA in Uganda.
He also featured for Golden Arrows(South Africa),IBV Vestmannaeyjar(Iceland),Throttur (Iceland),Haugesund(Norway),Valur (Iceland), KF Tirana (Albania) and AL- Arabi Sports Club (Kuwaiti)
He was part of the Uganda Cranes Squad that made history to qualify to the 2017 African Cup of Nations that was held in Gabon.The Uganda cranes had taken long to feature in the tournament since 1978.
Mawejje played for the uganda Natinal team between 2004-2017 and scored 8goals in 83 games.
