Minister Denis Hamson Obua confirms new Mandela National Stadium Board
Minister for Sports Denis Hamson Obua has appointed the new Mandela National Stadium Limited Board on a three year employment contract.
Denis Hamson Obua (born 6 February 1980), is a Ugandan politician, who serves as the Minister of State for Sports, in the Cabinet of Uganda, effective 14 December 2019. He also concurrently serves as the incumbent Member of Parliament representing Ajuri County, Alebtong District, in the 10th Ugandan Parliament (2016 to 2021).[2]
According to the Changes made by minister Denis Hamson Obua, the new board will be chaired by Miss Rosette Lubwama while Mustapher Achidri, Godfrey Wamani, Anne Abeja, Mark Namanya, Mukyala Veronica, Ebril Jimmy Ssegawa are the other six members on the board.
Basing on merit ,Rosette Kebba is the only member maintained from the previous board by Minister Denis Hamson Obua while Aldrine Nsubuga, Sam Bua, Simon Kidega, Ezra Kanyana, David Nkojjo and Victoria Kakooza have been replaced respectively.
Minister Denis Hamson Obua says that “the composition of the new board is based on gender balance,Skills and Sports Knowledge.The new board is expected to complaint to the Principles of the Institution.”

The Mandela National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Uganda. It is named after the South African then-President and anti-apartheid icon, Nelson Mandela.[3] The stadium’s record attendance of 50,000 was set in 2004, in a football match between the national football teams of Uganda and South Africa.[4]
