NRM BOSS FIRES NEWS EDITOR FOR COVERING BOBIWINE CAMPAIGNS..

Kayunga district NRM boss Moses Karangwa Karisa has this afternoon fired a news editor from his Jinja based radio station called City Fm for writing and covering events of opposition politicians especially Bobi wine who was today arrested in Luuka district.
The fired journalist is Mwesigwa JohnBosco who has been working at the station since November 2018 has been shown the exit by the furious Karangwa who says his workers should focus much on covering NRM campaign activities than wasting his resources on opposition.
Mwesigwa joined as a Lusoga news anchor and early this year following the exit of the station’s chief news editor Benedict Kigundu who is contesting to represent the people of Buvuma district in the 11th parliament, John Bosco assumed his duties and has been the news editor before Karangwa axed him.

According to Mwesigwa, he’s been surviving with no salary and a facilitation of UGX 100,000 which is given to him every after three months. But his interest in covering opposition stories, posting Bobi wine and people power things on his social media timelines, editing stories of opposition landed him in trouble.

Majority of journalists in Uganda are poorly paid, over worked and threatened whenever they try to demand for their rights and it has remained a major challenge to the freedom and independence of journalism since almost 80% of the media houses especially broadcast radios and Televisions are owned by NRM cadres.
