Justin Bieber announced as headliner for Fifa World Cup final half-time show
In an unprecedented move, Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber is set to join the likes of Madonna, Shakira, and K-pop group BTS for the inaugural Super Bowl-style half-time show at the FIFA World Cup on July 19.
The 11-minute performance will also feature Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, Coldplay with the PS22 Chorus, and the Sesame Street muppets, all in support of the Fifa Global Citizen Education Fund.
Expressing his excitement, Justin Bieber stated, “The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can.” This performance marks a significant moment for the artist, as he recently made a nostalgic return to the stage at Coachella after a four-year hiatus due to health issues.
Curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, the half-time show aims to raise funds for the Fifa Global Citizen Education Fund, with an ambitious goal of $100 million to support children’s education worldwide.
Notable artists such as Shakira and Burna Boy, who opened the tournament, will make a return, adding to the star-studded lineup.
Exciting Quarter Finals Coming Up
As the thrilling tournament progresses, eight teams will compete in the quarterfinals. Notable matches include France facing Morocco in Boston, Spain taking on Belgium in Los Angeles, Norway meeting England in Miami, and defending champions Argentina playing Switzerland in Kansas City.
Argentinian superstar Lionel Messi leads the Golden Boot race with eight goals, making history and captivating audiences worldwide. He faces stiff competition from players like Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, and Harry Kane, each showcasing their exceptional skills on the global stage.
