 President Museveni urges public servants not to waste investors' time

President Yoweri Museveni has recently emphasized the importance of efficient and effective public service in Uganda, urging public servants to prioritize productivity and avoid wasting the valuable time of potential investors.

The president’s call came during a recent address in company of the First Lady Mrs Janet Museveni ,while commissioning the new Tororo cement vertical rolling mill plant in Tororo District.

In his speech, President Museveni stressed the crucial role that investors play in driving economic growth, job creation, and overall national development.

“ My appeal to Ugandans especially politicians and the public servants is to understand the role of industrialization but also understand the role of investors; don’t waste their time ,” President Museveni said.

He highlighted the need for public servants to provide prompt and efficient services to both local and foreign investors, ensuring a conducive environment for their investments to flourish.

President Museveni expressed his concern over instances where inefficiencies within the public service have hindered investment opportunities.

He urged public servants to be diligent, proactive, and accountable in their duties, emphasizing that every moment of time wasted could result in missed opportunities for economic progress and prosperity.

The president underscored the importance of eliminating bureaucratic hurdles and streamlining administrative processes to create a business-friendly environment.

He called for the implementation of reforms that would simplify procedures, reduce red tape, and enhance transparency. By doing so, Uganda can attract more investors, foster economic growth, and create employment opportunities for its citizens.

Furthermore President Museveni acknowledged that public servants have a critical role to play in promoting Uganda’s development agenda.

He urged them to prioritize the needs of investors, demonstrate professionalism, and exhibit a strong work ethic. By providing efficient and reliable services, public servants can contribute significantly to the country’s economic advancement and improve its global competitiveness.

President Museveni emphasized the importance of training and capacity building for public servants. He called for continuous skill development programs to equip them with the necessary expertise and knowledge to meet the demands of a dynamic and evolving economy.

By investing in human capital, Uganda can enhance its public service delivery and ensure a conducive environment for both local and foreign investors.

President Museveni’s message to public servants is clear: time is of the essence, and wasting investors’ time can have significant consequences for Uganda’s economic growth and development.
