Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is considered the centre of Ugandan politics but on Tuesday he was served a bitter taste of the same.

For many years, Museveni has been winning the elections with a landslide, enjoy countrywide backup from Ugandans,

However, a few days after the longest-serving African president launched his campaigns, he was on Tuesday morning served a rare reception when he toured one of the regions said to be Bobi Wine’s strongholds.

In a video shared on social media by Uganda blogger Frank, Museveni arrived at the region with his presidential motorcade, with heavily armed police officers.

Surprisingly, the roadside crowd started heckling and booing their president. They were also heard singing Bobi Wine’s slogans of ‘people’s power’

Some were holding and showing off Bobi Wine’s portrait to Museveni’s fleet of cars.

According to frank, Bobi Wine had just toured and left the place before the arrival of Museveni.

“This Mzee Yoweri Museveni campaigning in Uganda. He received a very cold reception. Booed and even mocked as arrived with his motorcade. It was here a few minutes earlier that Bobi Wine had passed while campaigning and the crowds were electric (see video below),” Frank captioned the video on his official Twitter handle.

Bobi Wine is set to battle it down with Museveni who is best known for his cunning political tricks of intimidating opponents by police arrest.

A few days before official campaigns kicked off, Bobi Wine was arrested and later released.

Political analysts are saying Bobi Wine is to give Museveni a good run of his money.
