Posted on

The fixture were meant to be released yesterday, November 10, ahead of league kickoff on December 3rd 2020.

UPL manager Paul Kabaikaramu blames the delay to club licensing procedure.

“We cannot release the fixture before the Licensing committee confirms the clubs that have fulfilled the requirements for next season,” says Kabaikaramu.

“Its the licensing committee that confirms the stadiums to use next season.

“In fact, we have our fixture draft ready but we can’t release it before getting greenlight from the FUFA Licensing Committee.”

FUFA Club Licensing Manager Ivan Kintu Bayige  says that an update on the status of the club licensing will be issued out today, November 11.

The FUFA Club Licensing Committee was scheduled to issue 2020/21 UPL Club Licenses by 3rd November 2020.

FUFA, on November 15, is expected to release COVID-19 Competitions Regulations to detail the execution of the authorised matches and training by the 15th November 2020 with the strict observation of training grounds and Stadium SOPs.

The FUFA Competitions Directorate was also expected to issue Players’ Licenses and bench permits yesterday.

Vipers Sports Club won the last edition of 2019/20 Star Times Uganda Premier League and will represent the Pearl of Africa at the 2020/21 CAF Champions League.
