Kampala police conduct intelligence-led operation to crack down on criminal activities

In a strategic move, the police in Kampala Metropolitan Area recently carried out an intelligence-led operation spanning various parts of the capital city. The operation was meticulously planned to target areas notorious for criminal activities, including the illicit trade of marijuana, smoking, burglaries, and theft.

The focused crackdowns conducted in Kitintale, Port Bell, Luzira, Kifuufu, and Gulf areas resulted in the arrest of 19 individuals suspected of engaging in illegal activities.

Furthermore, the operational scope extended to Kira Division, where 30 suspects were apprehended for possession of opium, and to Mukono, where 47 individuals faced detention for offenses related to marijuana possession and other illicit actions.

At the Central Police Station in Kampala, an additional 20 suspects were taken into custody for their involvement in various criminal acts.

Following the conclusion of the operation, law enforcement authorities expressed satisfaction with the outcomes achieved.

They emphasized their unwavering dedication to upholding law and order throughout the city of Kampala, underscoring the importance of such operations in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents.
