CECAFA U20: Uganda Beats Burundi.
Uganda Hippos beats Burundi 6-1 during a group B CECAFA U20 tournament encounter at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Memorial Stadium in Arusha, Tanzania.
Two goals by Ivan Bogere and Isma Mugulusi each and a goal apiece by Najib Yiga and Joseph Kizza Bukenya were enough to inspire the Hippos to their CECAFA U20 tournament victory after a goal-less statement with South Sudan on Monday
Much was made of the Hippos after their devastated 0-0 draw with South Sudan on Monday so the pressure was already on Hippos to respond. And they did just that in style, Bogere gave the Morley Byekwaso’s side the lead on the 42nd minute.

Just two minutes afterwards, Yiga doubled the Hippos lead with a clinical finish to double Uganda’s lead before the half-time break
The second half started just like how the first ended with the Hippos throwing everything to extend their lead and they were rewarded after a handball incident in the forbidden area by the Burundi defender.
Ivan Bogere stepped up and calmly put the ball into the back of the net to extend Uganda’s games lead to 3 goals .
A minute afterwards, forward Isma Mugulusi finally got his name on the scoresheet after having been so lively in the most part of the game before completing his brace in the 80th minute with a neaty bender finish
Having came on in the 66th minute for Richard Basangwa, Kizza made it 6 for the Hippos in the 86th minute.
Kevin Icoyitungiye got Burundi’s consolation goal just at the death of the game to deny Jack Komakech a cleansheet.
Uganda Hippos now get to four points in two games and are now through to the semi-finals of the 2020 CECAFA U20 tournament.
The finalists of this tournament will qualify for the AFCON U-20 tournament set in Mauritius next year .
The Uganda Hippos coach made two changes in the team that picked a point off South Sudan on Monday.
With defender Musa Ramathan suspended, Isma Mugulusi and Ivan Bogere have been introduced as Raymond Onyai comes to the substitutes’ bench.
The other 9 players who started against South Sudan in the goal-less draw all started.
