Pastor Augustine Yiga’s body arriving at his Church in Kawaala on

It was tears, tears and more tears of sorrow at the Revival Church in Kawaala as the body of Pastor Augustine Yiga was finally brought home, ahead of burial on Sunday.

As early as 5:00am, hundreds of Yiga’s followers thronged Kawaala to witness the return home of the lifeless body of the man who for years has been a source of their joy.

With no care for COVID-19 SOPs, mourners adjusted their masks in order weep.

At the entrance to the church, there were neither handwashing points nor sanitisers. Inside, no one cared about social-distancing.

The hearse arriving…

The hearse arriving…

Unlike in the past when Yiga would calm down those who went to him with trouble, this time there was no one to offer any consolation.

Nevertheless, a portrait of a smiling Yiga was carried ahead of the coffin that contained the remains of the man that has come to be referred to as Pastor Abizayo.

No shoulder to lean on

No shoulder to lean on…

However, the more the believers looked at the portrait, the louder they cried.

Several women could be seen rolling around on the floor as they cried for the man who was once full of life.

Yiga died on Tuesday following weeks of illness.

Oh God…why Yiga?

Oh God…why take Yiga!

Fellow pastors, artistes, the business community, politicians and other leaders have since sent their condolences to Yiga’s family.

Dark moment…

He will be buried tomorrow (Sunday, November 1, 2020) at his church.

Tears of sorrow

Tears of sorrow, deep sorrow

He’s gone…

RIP my pastor…

So much grief

A painful loss
