Authorities apprehend 4 individuals involved in hacking Isingiro LC 2 chairperson

In a recent development, authorities have successfully apprehended four suspects believed to be involved in the hacking incident targeting the Isingiro LC 2 chairperson identified as Byenyinemwe (64)

The incident, which occurred on October 22,2023 caused widespread concern and raised questions about the security of sensitive information. Law enforcement authorities, in collaboration with cybersecurity experts, swiftly launched an investigation into the matter.

However their efforts led to the identification and subsequent arrest of four individuals suspected of perpetrating the cyber attack. The suspects include Sylivia Kiconco  a wife to the deceased ,his two sons Aloysious Katushabe(40),Yebuuze Ronald ( 33) and Tukwatanise Moses the deceased neighbor.

According to preliminary investigations, the couple had domestic misunderstandings after the deceased married a second wife which created drifts in the family.

The immediate response from law enforcement demonstrates their commitment to combating cybercrime and safeguarding individuals’ digital security.

Meanwhile  the arrested individuals will now face legal proceedings, during which their involvement in the hacking incident will be thoroughly examined as this process aims to ensure that justice is served and that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.

The deceased’s body was taken to Mbarara Regional Hospital mortuary for postmortem as the four suspects are still detained in police custody to help with investigations.

Law enforcement agencies will continue to work diligently to prevent and investigate cybercrimes, employing advanced techniques and collaborating with experts in the field.
